Dallas Don’t are a band from Oxford, UK.
We are Brian (bass), Jenny (guitar), Niall (vocals/guitar) and Yan (drums).
Influences include The Pixies, Idlewild, Constantines, Titus Andronicus, Mclusky, Hefner, Los Campesinos!, Sleater-Kinney, Seafood and Fugazi. If you like some of this lot you might like us too.
The name is not a reference to the large southern US city (or to the 80’s TV show), but relates to the Dallas Dhu (pron. ‘do’) whisky distillery and museum, near where Niall grew up (it’s home to some scary waxworks and free wee drams). We’re not certain how well this joke travels outside of north-east Scotland.

Oxford Punt is coming

We’re lucky enough to be sharing a stage with ToLeisel, Deer Chicago and the Old Grinding Young, at the Duke’s Cut. Which, I might add, is free entry.

A wonderful new poster from Pigo can only mean a gig is on the way! We’re going to be playing at the Port Mahon on St. Clements in Oxford on Friday 20th April alongside three wonderful bands:
Cat Matador (http://soundcloud.com/cat-matador), who play brilliant atmospheric indie, mixing elements of classic 4AD bands, with The Antlers, Low and early Interpol.
Robots with Souls (http://robotswithsouls.com), a one man drums, bass and vocals combo, creating noisy, experimental drone rock a la DFA 1979.
Pump Shark (http://www.myspace.com/pumpshark), who are a great post-hardcore outfit, all the way from High Wycombe, with shades of Oxes and Hot Snakes.

In other news, we’ve been selected to play The Punt in Oxford, as one of 20 local bands playing across 5 venues in the city centre on the evening of Wed 16th May.
